13–14 · Fall Season · Aug – Nov
Bantam Raiders
Whether your player is graduating from the Airdrie Storm or stepping onto the field for the very first time, the Bantam Raiders offer a safe, competitive environment designed to build fundamentals for high school football. At the start of the season, all athletes are evaluated and placed based on skill level between our competitive 12-Man team and our 9-Man Development team. The season officially kicks off in early August with practices running from 6:15 to 8:15 PM at East Lake Soccer Fields, following our early June Spring Camp which is fully included with regular season registration. All necessary equipment is provided except cleats — athletes just need to dress for the weather and bring a labeled water bottle. Practices run in most weather conditions, and any cancellations due to severe weather will be posted on social media and emailed directly to registered families.

9-Man Development League
Entering tackle football at 13–15 years old and lining up against kids who've already been playing for four or five years can be daunting. The CBFA 9-Man Development League gives new players a place to learn the game, build confidence, and graduate up to the 12-man roster — all while practicing alongside the 12-man team on a regular basis.
- ▸A dedicated pathway for players new to football
- ▸Learn fundamentals in a lower-pressure, development-focused environment
- ▸Practice with the full 12-man team to accelerate growth
- ▸Play games against other CBFA development teams in the 9-man league
- ▸Graduate up to the 12-man roster when you're ready

Steve Kemp
Head Coach
Steve Kemp is an award-winning head coach and champion of grassroots youth athletics in Alberta. Born and raised in Airdrie, Steve's gridiron journey began locally playing high school football for the George McDougall Mustangs. He advanced to the junior ranks, playing five seasons with the Vancouver Island Raiders. During his tenure in British Columbia, Steve captured four British Columbia Football Conference (BCFC) titles and two national championships before injuries brought his playing career to a close. Transitioning his passion for the game to leadership and mentorship, Steve returned to his roots to coach the local Airdrie Raiders program across both the Bantam and Midget/Spring divisions for over a decade. Under his guidance, the program has reached championship heights—including a Durante Division spring league title over the Calgary Wildcats, an undefeated 9-0 regular season, and a Tier 1 Provincial Championship victory. Named **Football Alberta's Bantam Coach of the Year**, Steve prioritizes fundamental skills, discipline, and player development, helping young athletes from Airdrie, Cochrane, and surrounding communities advance to junior, CJFL, and university-level football programs.
